So, it's the last day of 2011. Oh come on, who doesn't look back and review the year hahaha.
The year 2011 has been a...unique year for me, since it's my first year of uni. Looking back, time has been slipping by really really fast, and I actually think that it gets faster and faster as I grow older lol. Perhaps it's just me.
January. 'Twas such a relaxing and carefree, yet emo month - officially disconnected from high school, planning for the future (so to speak LOL), wasting my time doing nothing? And finally/suddenly, being one-can-say-forced to apply for a university against my own will.
So February came. Continued my "plan for the future", turned from a sulky face to an "Okay" meme face, accepting the fact that I was to study a course which I didn't understand and a university that I didn't want to enter. Orientation started, classes started, met new people who have and perhaps will influence me in time to come.
March. Whole month of adjusting to a new lifestyle. Assignments are so different, with citations and stuff. Missed the life of a high school student, yet anticipated more from the perspective of a university student. Pretty hardworking at first, attending all lectures and tutorials, reading readers...
April came. Looked forward to mid-semester break, slacked a lil, continued meeting new people everyday. Then mid-semester/Easter break came, went back to JB, reminded of how my life was like just a few months ago. Occasionally wondered how I would have been like if I had studied another course in another institution.
May was the month with heavy loads of work. Assignments, tests, first paper on the first day of study week. Got pretty burned out coping, but thank God I got through it in the end. Was definitely not looking forward to finals in June.
But June still came. Papers to sit for, some of which I had no idea how or where to start studying. Thoughts of leaving Monash occurred pretty often. Was wondering what and who I was studying for. Thoughts like that came and went...finals were over. CF Camp came. Got to know a bunch of new people. Yes, A BUNCH.
July. CF camp ended. Left me hanging, recalculating. Went back to my hometown again with mixed feelings. Hung out with old pals...semester 2 started.
August. Tried to eliminate the thought that came flashing every now and then - why am I here. Figured out that this is probably where God wants me to be in. Slacked a lot compared to first semester though. Started doing assignments very late, skipped more lectures and tutorials...
OH, it's September. Stress piling in. Spiritually confused on a few occasions. Sought answers, got them, understood a little more. Grew deeper. Sister went to Canada and I wasn't at home most of the time, spending a lot more time in uni, therefore friendships went up to a higher level. Monash annual ball, pretty fun!
Ocococococtober. Drowned in the pile of homework. Time management got really bad. Spent the whole study week studying for one paper which happened to fall on the first day of finals, overlooking the other papers which apparently weren't too far away from the first. So lucky to fall sick a day before finals.
November. Finished sitting for all my papers while everyone was still having theirs. Sickness went away thanks to my awesome friends and most importantly, God. Literally wasted my time away. Spent a few days moving out. And then, back to hibernate for three months.
December. Games, books, gatherings. Christmas! Too much time on the computer though. Slowed down my brain. LOL. I think I'm getting stupid. Blinked of an eye, oops. IT'S THE 31st?! Seriously. What have I been doing this month!
So there. My 2011. Essentially. I'm writing this post for myself to read, in a way. HAHA. It's lengthy and there's not much point in it. Just a review so that I can refer to it in years to come TEEHEE.
2012. End of the world? MEH. Only God knows.
New year resolutions...God help me. Pray for willpower.
And so the last post of 2011 is about to end here. So is the year 2011. Happy new year in advance!
