【2012.】

Paris, France. City behind a mask.

I honestly think time is passing faster these days.

2012. A year of bittersweet memories.

Loads of laughter, tears, disappointments, surprises..anything and everything that constitutes a normal everyday life on earth, really.

While I sit here in my room, alone, I take a break from my 4000 word essay, looking back at how God has brought me through this year.

And I'm grateful. Very grateful. The fact that I am given the opportunity to even be here, in the UK, a country that I've always dreamed of going to, shows how blessed I am.

Many things happened over the year. Some good, some bad. Nonetheless, I do believe that God allows everything to happen for a greater purpose, and even if you can't see it now, you will see it in the future.

The exchange has definitely changed my perspectives, my judgments, my life. It's not over yet, but I can say that the lessons I have learnt here will be kept for a lifetime.

I'll be going back in approximately a month's time. And I know everything will be different. Reverse culture shock, they say.

Five months isn't a very long period of time. But it's long enough for people, for circumstances and situations, for places to change. And I will have to face that.

Oh yes, I missed out on many events, so many opportunities. Many times I wished I could be in Malaysia, celebrating festivals with my family, eating, hanging out with people. But it's part of growing up and being independent, isn't it? And it doesn't mean I haven't gained anything here. Well, I definitely gained weight wth. Honestly though, I myself am not sure which will weigh heavier if put on a scale.

It's the last day of 2012. Time to let the old pass, and begin 2013 with a renewed mind, soul, spirit and body. There are many things waiting for me to let go.

So put on that smile and wake up to a new self :)

New year doesn't mean I don't have to work on my essays.
